Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses.

For example:

smuggler trafficker
finds documents containing 'smuggler' or 'trafficker'

smuggler or trafficker
same as above

smuggler and trafficker
finds documents containing both 'smuggler' and 'trafficker'

smuggler not trafficker
finds documents containing 'smuggler' but not 'trafficker'

(smuggler not trafficker) and Jamaican
finds documents containing 'Jamaican', plus 'smuggler' but not 'trafficker'

finds documents containing words starting with 'web'
